Deciding to pursue therapy can be a difficult decision for many, filled with concerns around what it may involve and whether it will really help. As a therapist in training, Esther welcomes these concerns and invites clients to bring them into the room. As a graduate student, she understands that it is often challenging to simply take care of oneself, let alone take care of others. She’s committed to working collaboratively with clients to find ways to improve their life and celebrate their strengths.
Esther has experience with testing adolescents and adults for concerns around ADHD, learning disorders and general psychiatric diagnoses to assist with proper treatment. The hope with testing is not only to provide diagnostic clarity, but also to provide helpful and relevant recommendations for moving forward.
In her therapeutic experience, Esther loves working with all ages and genders, and wants to honor all of an individual’s intersecting identities that are important to them. She has previously worked with middle school and high school aged children with concerns around anxiety, depression, suicidality, and difficulty regulating emotions. She has also worked with young adults focused on concerns around anxiety, panic attacks, body image, suicide, and identity. Modalities that she is trained in include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Therapy.
In her free time, Esther likes to run, attend run clubs and races around Charlotte, play with her cat, Piglet, and try out new restaurants with her partner.
