For many people, beginning therapy can feel like a step outside of their comfort zone. This step may be paved with mixed feelings of uncertainty and hope, which is completely normal. As a psychologist, Dr. Young’s mission is to walk alongside you as you process painful emotions, reframe troubling thoughts, and navigate life’s challenges – all while helping you recognize personal strengths and successes, meet your goals, and achieve personal growth along the way. Using a warm, relational, nonjudgmental, and evidence-based approach, Dr. Young strives to meet clients where they currently are and prioritizes tailoring sessions to meet your individual needs while remaining grounded in what works. Dr. Young also supports you being the expert of your own life and welcomes your perspective in your collaborative work together.
Dr. Young has helped many people of all ages, ranging from children and their families to adults, transform their lives and embrace a renewed sense of purpose. Dr. Young also has many years of experience working with adolescents and is particularly passionate about this age group. Outside of the office, Dr. Young enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting coffee shops and bookstores, trying new restaurants around Charlotte, boating, watching football, and live music.
