Dr. Wittig earned
her doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in child
psychology, from Louisiana State University. She completed a
fellowship in Infant Mental Health at Louisiana State University
Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Wittig’s
research and clinical interests include early child development,
developmental delays, behavior management, ADHD, anxiety (phobias,
separation, general), psychoeducational/ psychodiagnostic
assessment, as well as, school consultation. She uses a
cognitive-behavioral approach to assess and treat toddlers to teens.
Since moving to
Charlotte, Dr. Wittig served children ages zero to five years old
with developmental disabilities at Mecklenburg County Children’s
Developmental Services. She then joined Cameron Valley
Psychotherapy and Counseling Associates treating children of all
ages before teaming up with Southeast Psychological Services. Dr.
Wittig currently serves as a member of Charlotte Area Independent
Schools (CAIS) and teaches psychology at Queens University.
Dr. Wittig and
her husband were born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. They
were thrilled to make Charlotte their home in the fall of 2004. Dr.
Wittig spends her spare time painting, practicing yoga, and playing
fetch with her two dogs, Cosmo and Lucy.
