Dr.
Marcus works with children, adolescents, young adults, and their
families. She is often accompanied to work by her Labrador
“co-therapist” Merlot, who is a licensed therapy dog. Dr. Marcus and
Merlot work as a team to help clients feel more comfortable with the
therapy process and to address specific treatment goals. As a
clinician, Dr. Marcus integrates family work and parenting
strategies as important components of treatment. She views parents
as a primary mode of intervention and welcomes their participation
and involvement in the care of her clients.
Dr.
Marcus specializes in helping adolescents find their identities and
formulate their future goals, while empowering their families to
maintain open communication and loving, trusting relationships. She
also provides group and family therapy and is highly skilled at
assessment for LD, ADHD, and other psychodiagnostic concerns.
